A sweet card for a sweet teacher

Sophia's teacher is awesome - really! I loved her the moment I met her.  She's loud, easily excitable, gives the best hugs and has really helped Sophia improve in the areas that needed it most.  She also gave me back my passion for wanting to teach.

So I like to treat her, I'm always sending along little treats as tokens of appreciation, helping out where and when I can and just letting her know that she's doing an awesome job.  So often teachers are just forgotten about in the grand scheme of education, and a lot of parents think paying for their child's education is enough.  But teachers put in so much of their time, money and heart outside of school hours and they're there for a lot of our children's lives when we can't be.

I made this card using a cute Some Odd Girl digi and coloured it up with my Copics and some gloss.  I made the apple nice and shiny, and of course her eyes are glossy too.

I layered pieces of patterned paper and Bazzill to create the background - lots of scraps from my stash, and then tucked in a small acetate film strip and a 3-in-1 word ring from Tanya Leigh Designz.  Then I wrapped some green and white twine and added a diecut word and flag.

I fussy cut the image so that it stood out on the patterned paper and the word ring.  I'm so happy with how cheerful and bright it turned out.
