The First Day of Grade One

Tuesday marked the first day of Grade One for Sophia.  She was very excited about the whole thing, but sad too cause she wasn't in the same class as her bestfriend.  Many of her other friends were in her class though and she was sitting at the same table as them.  We walked Sophia to her classroom and put her box of stationery on her desk.  The school supplies it all, but we have to cover and name everything.  So we put it all on her desk and welcomed some friends that we recognised.  Sophia got a photo with her new teacher and raced outside to greet more friends.  She loved to compare her stationery, her book covers and see who had the same school bag.

When the bell went at 8.45am - the teacher told all of us parents that it was time to leave.  We shared big hugs and Sophia happily went to sit with her friends.  It was such a relief as she was very emotional on her first day of Prep and for many days afterwards.

I also slipped some cute little notes into Sophia's lunchbox to remind her how much she was loved and to give her a smile at lunch.

I created a layout with some photos from the first day.  I used a template by Little Green Frog Designs and digi embellies and papers from MLE Card.

I also love to create fun afternoon teas during my girls' first week back, here's one of them
Cute little "apple" cupcakes with a Flake stalk, spearmint leaf and sour worm.  The girls (and their dad) loved them!
