Day 16 - Puckins for sale!

Hi and welcome to everyone from the 31 Days of Halloween blog hop!  If you want to see more of the awesomeness that this blog hop has to offer, the you can find the blog roll on the left in my sidebar.

I can't believe it's the half-way mark in our Halloween journey, I thank each and every person that visits and leaves the most beautiful comments for me.  I read them in the morning, and it really starts my day off in the most positive way.

Today I have 2 projects, the first is an altered book that I turned into a Jack-o-Lantern.  I've never done one of these before, but have seen them and wanted to give it a go.  I bought the instructions from Crafty Hana on Etsy and then set about folding 400+ pages.  I used an old book and love that it has an orange hue to it, which is perfect for the pumpkin!

The second project was a bookmark, cause all good books need a bookmark!  I used an image from Mo's Digital Pencil and coloured it brightly in Copics.
I doodled a border around the edge and then distressed it.  I added it to a tag shaped piece of Bazzill that I made, then layered some patterned papers, a feather, bling, a black cat and some skull brads.

I titled the image Puckins 4 Sale after a story my dad told me once - when he was little, his parents went to town for the morning and he gathered up all the pumpkins and set up a stall out the front of his house to sell them!  When his parents arrived home, they saw the stall and the sign that my dad had written and it said "Puckins 4 Sale".  I also love this image cause it reminds me of my youngest daughter's first Halloween - she was dressed as a pumpkin
Isn't she cute?!  My little Punkin :)

Your bookmark is so bright and cute! I have to search out some fun skull brads.
LOVE your folded pumpkin book - and that you used the natural orange of the pages.
I remember many (many many) years ago folding trees out of Reader's Digests.
