Gone Fishing!

I'm not big on going fishing - I'm far to impatient to wait for some silly fish to take a worm.  I went fishing once and caught a small fish in the river.  I of course threw it back to live another day (I don't eat seafood, and we have size limits).  I threw my line out again just for laughs (hubby was having a great time!) and low and behold I caught another fish!  When I reeled it in though, it was quickly discovered that I had managed to catch the same fish AGAIN!  I mean seriously how silly do you have to be to take the worm a second time?!  I sent him back into the river after a stern chat about not taking worms from strangers and to swim straight home!

I chose this stamp from Karen's Doodles and immediately loved it cause it reminded me of my hubby and my youngest daughter.  They always go fishing together and Sophia always catches the fish!  I used my Copics to colour this cute image an used colours that my hubby and Sophia would actually wear.  I used a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and then wrapped the card in gold thread that's anchored with a fishing gizmo and a charm.
I also added a googly eye to the fish, some sparkly aqua embossing to the fish scales and gloss.  I learned something about the gloss - if you use a heat gun on the gloss, it creates really cool bubbles which are perfect on the tail of the fish.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Pile it on Challenge - By the Sea
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything Goes
Come and Get it Challenges - Fish or Fishing

Hey, Sarah. First, let me say that you cracked me up when you called part of the tackle a fishing gizmo and the part about you catching the same fish twice. This is a cute card. Reminds me of my mother and I. She loves fishing and is too old now to fish. Your coloring is great and I'm glad that father and daughter have fun together. Thanks for joining us at Come And Get It challenge. Bunny DT

What an adorable image colored to perfection. This is so cute and this brings back such great memories of me and my Dad. I love this card. Your doodling is a perfect little addition around the image. Your 'fishing gizmo' is awesome. Perfect touches on the fish, too. I love your card and it made me smile inside thinking of my Dad. Hugs, Gail
