I created this card for a sweet 5 year old for their birthday. She wanted a beautiful Barbie card so I thought Barbie from Mariposa Barbie would be perfect. I haven't coloured her exactly as the Barbie Doll, but instead chose some bright coloured Copics for the wings and then I made a pretty petal skirt topped with lace.
The petal skirt was created using some pink ribbon that I trimmed into tear-drop shape and then held in front of a flame (be very careful doing this as I melted a piece of ribbon, which fell on my finger and left me with a blister!).
Anyway, the edge of the petal is gently melted and it shapes the ribbon into a perfect petal shape. I then glued the petals together to form a little skirt. I added some lace trim to the top of the skirt. I also added gloss to the entire surface of the wings, and a little Stickles to the shoes.
This is actually a better photo of the true colours of the card. I missed out on taking a photo in normal daylight. You can see the shape of the petals better from this angle. I also raised the image up on 3D foam dots and trimmed around it as it was quite large. I have also put some teeny-tiny bling dots at the top of every scallop (under the sentiment) and doodled my own borders around my pp.
I used a sketch from Cardabilities #72 for this card.
