I can't believe it - my eldest daughter is going to be 12 this year - in around 7 days to be exact. Her last year before she becomes a teenager! Well I figured I could go to pieces or throw a big bash to celebrate. I chose the later. She's invited some of her closest friends to a tea party on the weekend and we decided to theme her invites with Alice in Wonderland! I had so much fun with this. I found the perfect papers, matched them with some images I found online, some washi tape and some really neat embellies and voila - the invites came together just as I imagined. So lets take a close look
First up we have the jar, I found these at Earthborn and they were having a 50% off sale! Then I wrapped them in some washi tape and added some tags. The one on the left was cut from a sheet of cardstock, the one on the left is an image printed off Google Images and I distressed the edges. The papers I have used for this project are Graphic 45 "Ladies Diary" and "ABC Primer" both have lovely vintage looks about them, with typing and some clocks. I added a key charm to the tags as it's a focal feature of the movie.
The rosettes were created with the papers, then I added a black ribbon bow and a small rose.
Inside each jar is the invite. I added an image of the Queen of Hearts and used the Alice in Wonderland font. There are also tiny diamentes. I also created a folded playing card, with a cupcake and "very Alice" tag labelled "eat me". The blue and purple wood curls are scented and sit in the bottom of the jar on a bed of faux grass. On the back of the invite is an image of Alice and details of the party.
