Precious Baby

Recently I went on holiday with my family back to my hometown for my brother's 21st birthday.  While we were there we travelled over to my mother and father in-laws home to spend some time with them and my brother and sister in-law were there with their son and new baby daughter.  Zahara is just the cutest little baby, and I had the most wonderful cuddles with her!  Sophia was not so impressed and had a permanently fixed frown the whole time she was looking at the new bub in her mummy's arms.  She kept touching her feet and hands to see them move!  Zahara slept peacefully in my arms, only fussing a couple of times cause her dummy fell out or because she couldn't breathe properly (her little nose was blocked due to having a cold).  The weather was gorgeous outside which was where I sat with Zahara under a big tree.  There was a gentle breeze blowing and you could hear some birds far away.  It was a really beautiful moment to spend with Zahara as she snoozed.  I was very lucky to catch a special moment between Justin (one of her big brothers) as he took her hand in his, it was so sweet.

In the layout you see above I used a few different techniques.  I used some plastic flowers which I pinched the tips and added some silk flowers and a brad to the centre.

I also added a blingy butterfly and some little dots around the flowers.  I pleated some organza ribbon and sewed it to the layout to add softness.

For the journaling spot, I have had this little set of 3 frames for years and never used them, so I cut the other two frames off and sanded the edges, then positioned it over the edge of the photo.  Very carefully I cut out the protruding photo with my knife and then put 3D foam dots under the frame and stuck it down

(Good old Blogger), you can just see the edge of the photo where I cut it out.

A couple of other things: I stickled some of the sparkly pattern in the background paper, and I had the photos matted for me when I got the photos processed - it saves so much time and paper when you go to scrap!
