It's a Monster Mash!!

Oh how I love Halloween!!  There's just something about orange and purple together that get's me excited!!  I didn't think I would be doing any Halloween layouts this year as we are travelling away (and technically we don't celebrate it here in Australia), but ScrapFIT have a challenge that I just couldn't pass up!!!

The challenge is to use a Halloween song in the title of your layout. I chose Purple People Eater - isn't that the catchiest tune ever!

Now because I hadn't bought any new Halloween supplies, this layout is entirely made up of scraps!!  I got the inspiration for the design from Page Maps, then started to dig through my stash for Halloween goodies - On a whim I found a boggly eye and popped it in the "O" in the title.

I also used on piece of pp, then layered on some black, white and word printed paper to create a scrappy effect (it makes for a very quick background!) The pumpkins are felt, and the spider and webs are Sticko stickers.  I created the green tule flower then adorned it with a button.  The title letters actually come multi coloured in Halloween colours.

Here's a close up of the flower - I stitched the button on using white thread.  The orange satin ribbon was stapled to the layout with coloured staples - some of the staples couldn't be added to the layout because my stapler wouldn't reach, so all I did was staple the ribbon on it's own, and then stuck it down using my ATG - they still look like they were stapled to the paper!

I was going to add a picture of the journalling, but Blogger keeps putting it upside down.  I simply cut out a piece of white card and then scrunched it all up, tearing the edges in places.  Then I stuck it down using my ATG and added some pp and a web sticker.

Now if you're wondering about the photo in the layout - it's of Sophia's arm.  I got a call from her daycare to say that a child had bitten her.  He bit her good too - and cause Sophia is so good at talking she could tell me who did it by saying "Naughty Elliot" all weekend.  Then no less than a week later this happened:

This time it was a different child, but you can clearly see every single tooth on her shin.  Sophia was apparently sliding down a slide at daycare when the child bit her.  Where the child's eye teeth are, they broke the skin.  My poor baby :(
If you don't know what a One Eyed One Horned Flying Purple People is, then take a look at this:
