Guttergirlz DT Swap

Oh what fun, this month Scrap Your Crap Designers swapped with Gutter Girlz!!  And boy was their theme a challenge for me.  I hummed and hahed over it for weeks before finding inspiration!

Okay so here were the conditions of the layout:
THE PROMPT: Mindless
THE SONG: Dickhead by Kate Nash
PRODUCT/TECHNIQUE: Trash

Yeah not so easy - firstly, don't ask me how this is going to fit in my album cause it's so chucky and thick!  I listened to the song, and changed the "f" word in it to "yucking" - cause we all know how yucky rats are - this one was bought in on the patio by Sweet-Pea in the wee hours of the morning and I found it - on Sophia's play mat!  I had to lay the ruler out just to show how big it was (15cm without a tail!).  The products I used were all trashy - a ring pull, scrunched up paper, a bottletop, remnants of scrappy paper, some cardboard that I distressed more and I even made the pleated embelly out of a Milky Way packet!  Which I then sewed to the semi circle.  I must admit I did have some fun with this one!

This is a closeup of the pleats that I created.  I simply cut two strips of the Milky Way packet and then with some adhesive ran a line of it around semi circle.  Then putting one end of the packet at the bottom of the semi circle I started to pleat. The tape holds it before I get to sew it.  You can also see some ribbon, stickers, the raised photo, leaves and ring pull.

I used the curls of cardboard that I ripped off, as an embellishment.  Then I gently rolled some ribbon and stuck it down as if it's just sitting there.

Ripped cardboard is a wonderful effect!!!   And so much fun to do.  Just rip away until you are satisfied with the effect.  You can also see the layered pieces of pp, some scrunched paper that Amber was using for a project and a bottle top.

Who knew making such a yucky layout could be so much fun!!  Thanks Gutter Girlz!
