Use your stash!

You know you have plenty so why go out and buy more!  I love digging through my baskets of goodies, I always forget what I have!

This week at Practical Scrappers we were given the challenge of using stuff in our stash older than a year and surprisingly it was very easy!  I managed to find some spotty organza ribbon, some DCWV papers and some stickers!  Oh and the button and flower were also hidden deep in the bottom of a basket!

I love this photo of Sophia, and I'm actually going to frame this layout and hang it in her room.  It really shows how blue her eyes are and she has the cutest little smile!  I chose colours in the layout to match those in her outfit, but also wanted some blue in there to accent her eyes.  Here are some close ups of the layout:

For the ribbon, I simply cut a length that could be secured behind the patterned paper that the journalling is on, then used a strong double sided tape.  Then I cut a length of ribbon, seared the edges so it didn't fray and tied it in a knot around the secured ribbon.  I hand stitched the button and flower to the knot.
