A little something special...

I made some special little gifts for the girls I work with yesterday. It's valentine's day on the weekend and it's also Random Acts of Kindness week, so I created a little gift that combined the both. The girls were really surprised - which is the whole idea of a RAK and most had completely forgotten it's V Day on Sunday! Nothing like catching people by surprise!

To make one of these little gifts you need some patterned paper, a paper trimmer, stapler and hole punch. You will also need curling ribbon, a chuppa-chup (lollipop), and 1 Ferrero Rocher.
Firstly take one 12x12 sheet of paper and trim it into 2 inch wide lengths. Then cut one of the strips in half (6 inches). Using your Scor Pal (or as I did - a stylus and the groove on my 12 inch cutter) score a line across one of the ends of the paper at 1/2 and 1 inch (so you get two scored lines). Near the end of the paper (the end with the scores), punch a hole in the middle so the lollipop can go through. Then (you can see it in the photo), put your Ferrero in the middle of the paper strip and fold your paper up til it touches the first scored line (fold the paper over here) and staple. I used the same staple to add the curled ribbon. (A little trick - buy a premade curled ribbon bow, and simply take out the staple holding all the pieces together - no cutting, no curling). Then fold up the remaining 1/2 inch with the hole in it. Slide in your lollipop and tie the curling ribbon around the stick.

I then added a little tag that I made in my cuttlebug - with the Celebrations Stamps embossing folder. I tied this using the curling ribbon also. The Ferreros sit pretty snuggly in the paper so they shouldn't slip out.
