A stack of apples

They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away, so I've decided to have 3! I love apples, particularly the green Granny Smiths, they're so crunchy, but the bright red ones are so pretty and shiny.

I've stacked up 3 different coloured apples for this project using the Apple Box template from My Scrap Chick.

All I did was put a length of dowel down the middle of the apples to keep them in a line, then added pieces of bark for stalks, and leaves which are also part of the box template.  At the bottom I added a little bookwork using a separate template from My Scrap Chick.

Here is the whole display.  It's a great table decoration.  I placed the apples on a silver doily, and added some ribbons a crepe paper rosette and "Live Colorfully" diecut.  These boxes are designed to hold things inside, but I've glued them shut for this decor piece.

This is the top apple with rosette and flower.

The middle apple with some gems and the piece of wood bark for the stalk.  I rounded the leaves with a round wood tool and a soft sponge underneath.  It gives a nice rounded look to the leaves.

The book work is pieced together with lots of different pieces. I created the black hole from cardstock so it looks like he lives in the bottom apple.  I added washi tape and flowers to the worm's book and a little bow tie out of ribbon.

All of the items you see here were hand cut with scissors, but the templates also come as cut files for your favourite cutting machine.
