Dragon Babies

Welcome back for another challenge at Southern Girls Challenge!  This week the challenge is "Winged Things" and I'm lucky enough to have been given these images to work with, from Aurora Wings.

I thought I'd try out a new technique with these little ones - I wanted to show scales on them using my blender pen.  All I did was colour the little dragons (my daughter chose purple for the first one and green for the second).  Then, using my colourless blender pen from Copic, I created dots in the the shaded areas by holding my pen for a few seconds, which leaves a whitish dot.  I'm really happy with how their tiny scales turned out.

I added some gloss to their spikes, eyes and shell.  I also put a little clear Stickles on their wings for shimmer.  Here's a closeup so you can see the details
You can see the sparkle in their wings now, and the shine that I put on the bottom of the eggs.  There's also some Liquid Pearls dotted around.

I'm including this card in the following challenges:
Craft Your Passion Challenges - Anything Goes
Pile it on challenge - Use a bow
Crafty Calendar Challenge - Anything Goes
4 Crafty Chicks - Hand coloured image
Penny's Challenges - Favourite technique (using dots in various colours or blender pen)
