Day 4 - Bubble Bubble Toil and Trouble

Eye of newt and leg of lizard - this whimsical cauldron comes from Meljen's Designs and has been coloured with my copics.

I added a few pops of colour in the beakers, but stuck to traditional green slime and brown toad.  The bubbles have been glossed and I added some home made enamel dots.

These enamel dots are so easy to make!  I simply collected some coloured pony beads and laid them out on a tray (lined with baking paper), then popped them in the oven at about 250 degrees and watched them melt.  You do notice a bit of a smell, so make sure you air the house and have good ventilation in your kitchen.  It only takes a few minutes for the beads to melt and you can use them (once cooled).  I just used a little glue to secure them to the paper.
From this angle you can see the destressed edges of the paper, the doodling and the enamel dots.  For more Halloween fun visit the rest of the blogs in the 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop in my sidebar.

Love it! you did a fantastic coloring job.

Thanks for telling me how to use up my plastic bead stash.
Yes - emphasize the ventilated room and never to do this around birds.

Lovely card, colouring is great. I think the toad might want to back up before the cauldron goo boils over hime.

The "pony beads" you melted, are they plastic chunky beads with hole in middle? This is something I would like to try following your direction.

OH, I love this card! I love that tiny worm! Reminds me of Oscar the Grouch of Sesame Street! You had to be a hard core daily watcher to learn that Oscar had a pet worm! Now if I could only remember his name?
