Day 30 - Dressed to impress

Hi and welcome to everyone from the 31 Days of Halloween blog hop!  If you want to see more of the awesomeness that this blog hop has to offer, the you can find the blog roll on the left in my sidebar.

Well it's the day before the big day, less than 2 hours to go and we can get our Trick-or-Treat on!  Skully is all dressed up in her best dress - it has spider webs and black cats.  Then there's her hair.  She pinned the remaining tufts of dried, brittle hair back and fixed a pretty garland of purple flowers to her skull.  This year she's going to be carrying a Dia de Muertos mask and an orange pumpkin pale to collect candy in.  While she was wandering through the local graveyard she saw some pretty marigolds and collected some.  Skully is so excited about tomorrow she even popped her eyeballs in a glass of Evian to freshen them up!

Skully was a little upset that her boyfriend James Bones was out on assignment and couldn't go with her Trick-or-Treating but I assured her there would be plenty of other Boils and Ghouls to walk with tomorrow night.

She let me take a few close-ups of her outfit to share with you all.  Don't her eyes sparkle!  And the purple garland really brings out the pasty shine of her bones.  Skully's mask was coloured with Copics and accented with a tiny purple organza bow and skull (possibly Skully's pet guinea pig, she won't tell me).  Skully wears a dress of black tulle on white satin, wrapped at the waste by and intricate cobweb belt.

I really like how happy Skully looks in this photo, it's the one time of year when she really enjoys going out and mingling with others like her.  She has been known to lose a leg on occassion to the neighbourhood dog, so hopefully they're all safely locked up in their backyards this time.  It's no fun hopping about and trying to carry candy at the same time.  When she was a child, the school bully used to use her head as a bowling ball, so she's learned self defense, but it only goes so far when a dog is chasing you or is gnawing on your shin bone!
And lastly here are the cats along the bottom of Skully's dress - she's hoping they'll keep the dogs away too.  Everyone seems to avoid black cats, but Skully loves them - such friendly, sleek creatures that just blend into the night.

Well we have a few more last minute preparations before the pumpkin coach arrives (in 1hr & 3 mins) to start the Halloween festivities!!  Thanks for visiting us today :)

Skully is all fancied up to celebrate her favorite holiday! I hope it lives up to her expectations and then some.
I love her mask. I may have to use her idea myself. If I can find a flower garland for my hair.
