Day 27 - Toot Toot Ghost Train on Platform 1

Hi and welcome to everyone from the 31 Days of Halloween blog hop!  If you want to see more of the awesomeness that this blog hop has to offer, the you can find the blog roll on the left in my sidebar.

Today we discovered Gingerbread Houses & Ghost Trains at Coles.  I always make one for Christmas so I was utterly delighted to discover Halloween versions!!  They come in a kit, so all you have to do is use the icing provided, and stick it all together on the tray (and hope it doesn't fall in a heap).  Luck was on my side, and everything stayed where it was supposed to!  My daughter Sophia (5) came home from school, so it was her turn to add all the decorations.  She loves to roleplay with My Little Ponies and Littlest Petshop toys, so I made her a paper doll (from Meljen's Designs) who we've called Mavis (cause that's who she looks like from Hotel Transylvania), and some cheeky ants eating corn (from Doodle Pantry) atop the marshmallow pumpkins.
Here's Mavis next to her giant cauldron of jellybeans.  She's got her broom just in case the beans decide to do a runner or the rat knicks any.
There's those cheeky ants, trying to steal the corn before it can be dipped in brightly coloured paints and fixed to the outside of the Ms Witch's Gingerbread Cottage (she's tried to keep it quiet, but we all know she's got dry rot in her walls!).  Mavis tells me those skeleton bones are great for Eye of Newt soup.
The Ghost Train (known as Gerald to his friends) is always grumpy.  He gets cranky when people steal his decorations or the village children just lick them right in front of him.  The witches are always poking him with their brooms and he swears there's bats playing in his roof!  What's there to be happy about.  One day he was a handsome prince and the next *toot* he's a train with a bad attitude.

Hope you enjoyed your train ride today!

Not that I've looked, but I have never seen a gingerbread train for any holiday.
You have perfected the haunted look. Mavis seems to have things under control.

This is so cool--I didn't even know they made kits like this! Love Mavis, too; she looks like quite a hip little witch.

So cute the train. But even more so is your sense of humor poking out! Glad everything stayed where it was suppose to!
