Do you wanna build a snowman?

There is one thing that I've never done at Christmas - and that's build a snowman. Firstly, I live in Australia and it's the middle of Summer at Christmas - so the only snow you'll find is in the back of your old freezer!  But that doesn't stop me making snowmen for my cards.  This one was made with an image from Meljen's Designs, and there's a huge 25% off sale on over there at the moment so go grab some digi images!!

To colour my images I used my Copics and sparkly embossing powder as snow.  It gives the perfect effect and subtle shine.  I also added silvery swirls and pearl dots.  I layered lots of vintage style Christmas papers, added some doodled borders and some of my new puffy stars.  I folded and distressed the ledger paper using some fine sand paper.  The edges of the red and green papers are distressed too.

Finally I spritzed glitter spray over the entire card to add a touch of sparkle.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

  1. Sweet Sunday Sketch - Challenge 230
  2. Fitztown Challenge Blog - Anything Goes
  3. Digi Galore - Anything Goes
  4. A Gem of a Challenge - Embossing
  5. Left of Centre Creative Challenge - Christmas in August
  6. Glitter n Sparkle Challenge Blog - Add some Glitter and Sparkle
  7. My Perfect Life - Any Christmas Card
  8. Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog - Square or Rectangle Cards
  9. The Squirrel and the Fox - Inspired by a song or movie (Frosty the Snowman)

This is too stinkin' cute and I love how the snow does sparkle like real snow! I would not ever have thought to use sparkly embossing powder. I'll have to invest in some because I really like that outcome. Thanks for joining us at Fitztown Challenge Blog. Hope to see you again and good luck!
