It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

And if you're in Australia that means long hot days, mirages coming off the bitumen and the odd kangaroo womping down your street - or perhaps that's the coldy you just threw back making you see things?

Over at Practical Scrappers you are going to see lots of inspiration to get a start on your Christmas cards!  I chose this gorgeous image that is pre coloured for convenience (and who doesn't need that around this time of year!).  The Quirky Kangaroo comes complete with brown tinting, little pink cheeks and some purple, yellow and green spots.  Now I wanted her for my Christmas card so I made some adjustments.  First I used another digital image from Doodle Pantry, the wreath.  I used one and inverted it to sit on her head.  Then I tilted it 90 degrees and tucked one in her pouch.  The wreath come pre-coloured too!  The I dug out my Stickles and got to work on the spots and the cherries in the wreath.  No purple isn't a traditional Christmas colour so I chose my darkest red Stickles and liberally applied it to the purple half spots (on her neck and toe).  You wouldn't even know they were purple!  Once everything was dry I assembled my card with some fun matching papers, my new favourite thing TWINE, and added a little tagged sentiment.  For something special I added a little gloss to the paper strips behind the image.

Happy card making!
