A touch of summer

It's rather cold here in my part of the world - it seems someone turned on the winter air-con and we've all been pulling out the winter woollies and scarves!  I was actually huffing smoke at work this morning while setting up the playground equipment!

That's why I really needed a touch of summer from Crafting with Deedee's Digi's - you will find the cutest digi stamps over there and some really neat challenges - one of which I am going to show you today.  First I used a freebie stamp - yep that's right a freebie! and then I used the challenge requirements: use the colours turquoise/ocean blue, green and pink.
I love the versatility of digi stamps and am collecting quite a few - they take up no room on my desk, and store neatly on my computer!  For this stamp I printed two at the size I wanted.  Why two?  Here's a picture:

I made my flip-flops 3D!!!  I simply layered one stamp on another after I coloured it.  I used my Copic markers, and some stickles (Amber's request) to sparkle up the sides of the thongs and they matched so nicely to my sparkly Doodlebug paper background!  There was a printed sentiment with this stamp, but I chose to write it around the circle that I cut out instead.

I also used a Cardabilities sketch for the inspiration for this card - the shape of the blue sparkly paper was created by me.

  1. Sarah, you are so clever! I LOVE how you layered the flip-flop!! I just finished making a card with that same image, and the thought never even crossed my mind to do that. Love the dimension it gave the card. Very cute!
