Once upon a dream

Okay everyone - our challenge for July over at Melody's Scrapbook World is this: You need to have a song title for your layout, use lace or ribbon, add a chipboard shape and do some distressing/tearing/inking!

For this layout, firstly I used a sketch from Sketechabilities.  Then I research (read: questioned Amber on her favourite princess and what songs were from the movie) and came up with "Once upon a dream" for the title.  I created the little cloudy square using a piece of square chipboard.  I stuck down the paper and then sanded the edges to give it a softer look.  The strips of paper behind the ribbon and the blingy flower up the top are also distressed - one is torn the other two are distressed with scissors on their edges.  I pleated the pink organza ribbon across the bottom.

Here is a little closeup:

The photos are raised on foam dots, as is the chipboard square.  The flowers are both paper and silk, secured with a pink brad.

These photos were taken the morning of a dress up day at Daycare.  Sophia went dressed as Aurora - because we are in the middle of winter I had to add a long sleeved top, stockings and shoes to the outfit.  She also wanted to wear some of her sister's beads, but pulled on them so hard they exploded all over the dining room (we have polished wood floors, so they bounced and pinged all over the place!)  Sophia loves to twirl in her dress and apparently wouldn't let the other children at daycare touch it!
