Dig out your floss, fibers and ribbons!

We are having a floss, fiber and ribbon challenge over at Practical Scrappers this week!  I haven't used fiber on my layouts in ages!  So I had to dig a little deeper into the stash to find some.  I used a Page Map for inspiration, and came up with this.  The first circle is wrapped in fiber with pom poms on it.  The second circle has buttons sewn to the layout with floss and the third circle has a couple of flower I made using printed ribbon and organza.  There's also a line of floss across the bottom of the page.  You'll also find some hand punched paper, chipboards lettering in the title, doodled borders and some really cute photos!

I took the girls to work one weekend to check on our resident chicks, to make sure they had plenty of clean water and food.  I let one of them out on the floor for Sophia to play with.  She liked to call it a "duck" (all birds are ducks at the moment), and poke and pat at it.  The chicken was really calm - unlike poor Amber.  I sat the chick in her dress so she didn't have to touch it and the little bird ran up her leg and just wanted to be cuddle.  Amber freaked and said "get it off me mummy, it's running up my armpit!".  For some reason she really hasn't taken to animals, unlike Sophia who'll fuss and cuddle anything!

Here's a closeup of the circles and the flowers.  All I did for the ribbon flower was sew a line along one edge and then pull it so it scrunched up.  Then secure your thread and pop a button in the middle.  The organza flower was made by folding the fine ribbon in half (cause it was really wide) and the sewing along one side and pulling till it scrunched.  The scalloped paper was created using my corner punch.

I used pink chipboard letters for the title and raised them on 3D foam dots.
