Sketch Friday

Oh it's a good one this week!  I knew immediately which photos I wanted to use and how I was going to do it - don't you love it when inspiration just hits you like that!

Not that long ago I was able to start planting out my new garden bed, and re-pot a tree that was getting two big for it's original pot.  So the girls and I went to Bunnings to find a new pot, and we bought some Vinca flowers to underplant.  Amber chose white, and decided that planting them was going to be her afternoon job.

So here she is, with her little trowel digging holes to plant the flowers in our new pot.  We are also planning on starting a compost, worm farm and our very own vege patch!  Amber has already put in her order for strawberries, and Jason has also mentioned something about a Guinea Pig - how that will work with a cat around the place I don't know - but we'll see!  (Personally I'd rather a bunny, but we know that isn't going to happen!)

Now about this layout - the rays of sun were created with a compass - I drew an arc and then divided it into segments to cut up.  To make it easier, the rays are all still joined in the centre (behind the photos).  Then I used gold thread to sew along the edges, and adhere them to the layout.

(STUPID BLOGGER!) Yes this photo is the wrong direction (Grrrrrr), you can see the stitching a little better, and possibly some of the clouds that I outlined in clear stickles.

I used My Little Shoebox papers to cut out the little trees and squirrel.  Then I accented the dots with Stickles.  The charms I picked up cheap ages ago, are threaded onto the organza ribbon and adhered with 3D foam dots.  I was given the little farmer card and watermelon seed picture from Jennifer at Hydrangea Hippo.

So do you want to give the sketch a try?  Here it is, pop over to Practical Scrappers and drop your address into Mr Linky so I can come and see!
