Sophia's first trip to the beach

A little while ago we ventured down to Southport for a play on the sand and a splash in the ocean. It turned out to be a terrible day as far as the weather was concerned - it was very blustery and the water was freezing - but it didn't stop Jas & Amber running into the waves and having a good time. Sophia on the other hand was appalled and refused to play in the sand - the poor thing really didn't like the sand on her tootsies, and the ocean was obviously nothing like her warm, calm bath at home. So we cuddled and watched the others. Here is a layout I made of the day
The background paper is a really pretty blue and is shimmery with waves on it. The coloured scallops that I cut and doodled around myself are also shimmery/shiny. As you can see there is no journalling - I need your help to work out a way to add journalling to this layout without it looking funny - I may have to hide it somewhere, but either way I need to include it. Journalling is a really important part of scrapbooking for me - I like to include thoughts, smells, textures, dates, names and anything else that tells the story - so this layout cannot go without it!
You can see the beautiful blue in the background better in this photo - and the scallops are rolled up slightly. I adhered the ribbon and then added the bow - it's much easier and neater this way! There are many little embellies - flare, glitter stickers, vellum shells, brads, a ticket and the title is individual sticker letters made to look like it came out of a dymo labeller (they're from Sticko).

This layout is just perfect for the beach! Love your border and the shimmery wave paper, not to mention those cutie pie pix!

isn't it funny when they hate the beach or the grass :D

try sticking it behind your largest pic and putting a tiny tag on it (if you put it in the top) or a tab (if you put it in the side). I need to journal too :D

looooove the paper curled to look like surfboards :D

That turned out great - I love those pictures of her scrunching up her face, just not quite sure what to make of this whole beach thing. ;-)
