Red, White & Blue
Tuesday 28 July 2009
The SBB challenge this month was to create a page using only the colours red, white & blue, it also had to have at least one star and some bling. Here is what I came up with:I even managed to photograph Sophia wearing red, white & blue! I love this photo! I created the rosette myself from fan folded paper. The length of paper was then joined end to end and then pushed down in the middle. To secure just add a dab of hot glue. I added the loops of red ribbon, some bling and the matted star in the middle. The white organza ribbon was sewed using thread that changes colour - it's red, white & blue, I also used this thread to sew down the left side of the layout (next to the scallops) You can see how it changes colour from bottom to top.Close up of the rosette - I used red Stickles around the edge of it for sparkle. The blue patterned paper behind the photo was created by me - I cut 1 1/2 inch squares and placed them on red pp.Another angle to show the dimension of the rosette.
