Spreading the love...

As part of a challenge over at SB.com, we were asked to scrap about someone special in our lives - now before I start a family war - mum, don't fret your layout is coming for Mother's Day, you haven't been forgotten and you are by no means less special. But for now, I've scrapped about my dad. This layout was also created for Cafe Mojo's button challenge.

Dad you were the first man I loved, you stepped up to the plate and became an instant dad all those years ago and I thank you for that with all my heart. I truly believe that you don't just become a dad when a baby is born, you earn it (just like being a mum), and Dad you truly have earned that badge - you might not have been there when I was born but you have been there for everything else - tantrums, boyfriends, moving out, moving back home, sharing your spare change, teaching me to ride a bike, taking us camping, anything that helped me be the person I am today and get me where I am. I love you so much and appreciate everything that you have done for me in the past, the present and in the future. You're the best dad a girl could ask for and I can't wait to spend some time with you when we come up to visit soon. Here is your layout:

I chose black and white, cause that's the kind of person my dad is - he tells you as it is, doesn't sugar coat anything. This is also one of the photos from my wedding where I got to see my dad dressed in a suit - black and white - instead of his trademark stubbies or work clothes.

I created the flourishes myself by doodling them onto white card and fussy-cutting them. The black lines are thin satin ribbon, the buttons are sewn into the flower. I also added tiny dots of Stickles around the border of the round pp and in the dots of the large buttons. The swirls are raised on 3D foam tape - the stitching came with the circle ppMore swirls and some flowers

A cluster of flowers, buttons, ribbon and flourishes.

Now for an Easter layout:
My two little easter bunnies on Easter morning. I used scraps for this layout, and created the egg myself with a pen and stickles. I also sewed some lines on the strips of paper and used my threading water punch.
You can see the stitching a little better here - the bunny is a sticker
I raised up the picture of the footprints and Amber's basket in the background on 3D foam tape. I doodled around the edge to create a border.
The stickled egg and some doodled borders.
