Snakes Alive!!!

I've just dropped Amber at school and arrived home to find my road being ripped to pieces - well at the corner anyway. The council are redoing our road, so much for Jas getting any sleep today. Well there's a car parked out the front of our house, and the council workers asked me if it was mine - it's not, and besides we got a flyer in the mail specifically asking not to park on the road today - well I'm walking across the lawn to the mailbox (junk mail day) and guess what I found perched in my tree:

And for a closer look:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! No I wasn't that close, thank gosh I have zoom on my camera, but look, he was looking right at me!!! I nearly walked right under the darn thing!!!! The perils of living near a golf course!! I want to move now - I mean we've had a snake up the road, but up a tree - in my yard!!! The council guys out the front were lovely enough to call one of their guys to come and get my new resident - he said it's just an ordinary green tree snake - and they eat frogs (oh can it get any worse!)

Blek, it's not safe to go outside any more....

Tarnation! That looks like a big snake! Does it have a head like a boa? Kinda looks like it in the picture. We get snakes around here all the time and they get in the trees after bird eggs and baby birds but NOT THAT BIG!

I just wanted to come by and say hi and thanks for stoppin' by my blog. You have a great blog here.

Now I gotta go and check under my bed. Got the willies now.

Wow that is a huge snake...I saw a little tiny gardener snake the other day, and I screamed like I was being hurt. I absolutely hate snakes.

Also wanted to say you have a great blog. I don't keep my updated as much as I should. Have a great day!

Also do you normally have snakes that large in Australia?
